Death
Division of assets. Tax liabilities. Succession
Leaving aside the prospect of reincarnation, Death is usually final.
Planning would have taken place or not and the die is more or less cast. Apart from “Deeds of Variation” which redirect assets posthumously, up to Date wills and clear instructions should be the order of the day. Gifts should have been pre planned and creative tools used to mitigate death taxes whilst allowing ongoing access.
Prior sensible planning through life stages should leave HM Revenue and Customs suitably disappointed.
