I have to say that having John Breen's talents on board would appear to be a tremendous asset for your company (competex Limited) and a very beneficial service for your client base as far as I'm concerned. Though I have several academic qualifications under my belt, understanding the Competex Handbook about tax, NI and all things financial is not part of my skill set and I have always struggled with this, making several calls to your team from time to time to help with my understanding. Yesterday John explained to me most patiently the way in which corporation and personal tax, NI, profit and loss etc all works and in particular, how I can minimise the impact of tax by getting the balance of payroll and dividend right, as well as looking at investments, such as a pension.
I would REALLY have benefited from this meeting two years ago, when I set up my business. It would have saved me hours of trying to make sense of payroll and dividend and it would probably have saved me £££'s too, I expect!
